Japanese Art Society of America

The Japanese Art Society of America is a registered nonprofit, tax-exempt cultural and educational organization open to the general public. Memberships and contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. The membership year runs from July 1 to June 30. (There is no discount for those who join halfway through the membership year.)

Membership Benefits

Through its annual series of lectures, seminars and other events, the Japanese Art Society provides a dynamic forum in which members can exchange ideas and experiences with experts about traditional and contemporary arts of Japan. Meetings and events organized by the Society are held mainly in New York City, but are also offered in other locations. Members have opportunities to visit rarely seen private and museum collections, receive invitations for special events and enjoy curator-led tours through exhibitions and collections.

Members receive a quarterly newsletter summarizing Society events and providing information on relevant exhibitions and events in the United States and abroad. Members also receive the Society's annual journal, Impressions, the sole English-language publication in North America devoted exclusively to the arts of Japan.
