In Memoriam
Roger Keyes
1942-2020

JASA mourns the loss of Roger Keyes, a greatly beloved and highly respected scholar of Japanese prints. His conversation with Timothy Clark, the retired head of Japanese Art at the British Museum, was published in the current issue of our journal, Impressions 41 (2020), paints an affectionate portrait of a scholar deeply devoted to his work and to the many people in his life who shared his passion for Japanese art and culture. (Read the interview here.) Roger is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Coombs, a Zen practitioner and retired arts conservator; his daughter, Aenea; his sister, Janet; and his half-sister, Susan Bartholomew.
